Let us help you get your tracking dog off to a great start! We offer 3 month training courses that will get your tracking dog well on the way to becoming a tracking star. Our courses take your dog through a stepwise process that will result in a dog that can confidently run aged hoof tracks in preparation for tracking season. Most of our dogs will be able to navigate 24 hour old hoof tracks at the completion of the course. This level of preparation is an excellent start to preparing your tracking dog for real world recoveries on wounded game. During our fall courses, some of our dogs in training will get real world recoveries under their belts as well.
Each course also includes field obedience to make your dog a better citizen at home, and a more productive companion in the woods. At the completion of each course, the owner will be taken through a handler’s course. This ensures that they are fully prepared to work their dog, and continue the development of their tracking team.
We prefer to work pups in the 4-9 month old range. We do accept older dogs under certain circumstances, but prefer that these dogs have some previous experience. We are happy to discuss training options with you, and see if your current dog is a good fit for our program.
If you don’t currently have a tracking dog, but would like to get a pup to enroll in our program, give us a call, and we will see if we can get you set up with an appropriate tracking companion.
The cost of our 3 month training courses are $2000. This includes basic obedience and a handler’s course at the completion of the class. We feed Victor Pro dog food to our dogs. This is included in the cost of our course. If you would like us to feed your dog a different brand of food, we will ask that you provide the food or cover the cost of your pet’s food.
Please look under our “tracking contract” section to see more details about our courses.
