High Caliber Blood Tracking Training Contract

Brady Hesington/High Caliber Blood Tracking (further herein referred to as “the trainer”) contracts to provide “blood tracking”/scent tracking training to the dog of ___________ (further herein referred to as “the client”).

The trainer’s responsibilities:

  1. The trainer will provide adequate instruction as to develop and enhance the tracking abilities of the client’s dog.

  2. The trainer will routinely assess the client’s dog, and determine an appropriate training regimen to improve the dog’s tracking/trailing behavior.

  3. The trainer will do his best to provide a safe kennel environment to the client’s dog.

  4. The trainer will provide appropriate food and water to maintain the dog’s health while in the trainers care.

  5. The trainer will provide basic obedience training to the client’s dog.

  6. the trainer will provide the client with regular updates of the dog’s progress and condition.

  7. The trainer will provide the client with appropriate instruction as to how to handle and work the dog at the completion of each training block. this is referred to as the “handler training course.”

  8. The trainer reserves the right to discontinue training with any dog that is deemed aggressive, dangerous, or disruptive to the working of the kennel. In the event that training is discontinued prior to completion of the full contracted course, the client will reimbursed for any unused portion of the training fee on a pro-rated basis.

The client’s responsibilities:

  1. The client agrees to pay $2000 for the course. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the training spot. Should the client choose not to keep the training spot, the $100 will be forfeited at the time of cancellation. An additional $400 is due at the time of dog drop off. The remaining $1500 is due at the time of dog pick up. The dog will not be released to the client until payment is complete. Additional boarding costs of $150/week will be charged to the client if the dog is not picked up within 1 week of completion of the course.

  2. The client agrees to assume all veterinary costs for their dog. This includes routine vaccinations, general health care, and emergency care that may be required while the dog is under the care of the trainer. The trainer agrees to get consent for treatment from the client whenever possible. The client understands that consent may not be able to be obtained in an emergency situation.

  3. The client understands that tracking can be dangerous to the dog and the handler. As such, the client agrees not to hold the trainer responsible for injuries which may occur to the dog during the normal course of tracking.

  4. The client agrees to not hold the trainer responsible for any injuries which the client may incur during the “handler training course.”

  5. The client agrees to maintain contact with the trainer routinely during the training of the client’s dog. the client agrees to participate in a “handler training course” given by the trainer at the completion of the training block.

  6. The client agrees to provide a dog for training that is up to date on all vaccinations and free of communicable diseases.

  7. The client agrees to notify the trainer of any health issues that the client’s dog may suffer from, prior to the commencement of any training.

  8. The client understands and accepts that an electronic collar and/or pinch collar may be used on the client’s dog during training.

  9. In the event of catastrophic event that leads to serious harm or death of the client’s dog, even if deemed to be the fault of the trainer, the client agrees to settle for the actual replacement cost of the client’s dog plus the cost of accrued training performed at the trainer’s kennel, not to exceed $3500 in total.
